Durham Jets 2nd XI 127 (19.5 overs)

Birmingham Bears 2nd XI 131-5 (19.5overs)

Birmingham Bears 2nd XI (2 points) won by 5 wickets

Put into bat at South Northumberland Cricket Club, Durham Jets never demonstrated any confidence with their batting against some outstanding bowling from Sidebottom who returned the remarkable figures of 5-11 from his 23 deliveries. He removed two of the Jets three top order batsmen in his opening spell and then mopped up the tail when he returned to the attack.

Keith Barker picked up one wicket while the three spinners, Poysden 2-21, Javid 1-17 and Singh 1-35, took the other four as Durham were dismissed with one ball to spare, for 127.

In reply Alex Mellor 6 went early, but Ed Pollock 24 and Andrew Umeed 26 laid a solid platform for Matthew Lamb, 54 from just 35 deliveries, to fire the Bears home with one delivery to spare.
