The King returned

Ash returned to the Bears as Sport Director in January 2017, in what is a new role to oversee all cricket, including the senior men’s and women’s teams and the Academy and Development of Excellence programmes.

He previously enjoyed a five-year spell as our Director of Cricket – where he led Warwickshire County Championship in 2012 and One-Day Cup in 2010 – before taking over as Limited Overs Coach of the England team in late 2012 and subsequently joining Lancashire as Director of Cricket in 2014.

The former slow, left-arm bowler enjoyed a 14-year playing career with the Bears, during one of the most successful periods in the club’s history.

However, he also enjoyed an eight-year international career with England, where he won 54 Test caps, 62 One Day International caps and was part of the legendary team that defeated Australia to claim the Ashes at home in 2005.
