Following feedback from our fans at the Birmingham Bears vs Worcestershire Rapids game we have made a number of improvements to our E-Cup scheme.

We will be implement the following improvements with immediate effect:

More return points

Following the Worcestershire Rapids fixture we have rolled out a number of upgrades to our till system, which means all of our bars will now be return points for E-Cups. Please note that our food outlets close after the half-time interval so customers will not be able to return E-Cups at these points or in the club shop.

Quicker returns

After listening to our fan feedback we have scrapped our limit of four cups per refund and customers can refund as many cups as they like at any time during the game.

Easier access

More bars will be open on NatWest T20 Blast games and E-Cups will be available at every alcohol selling concession.

Return only points

Finally, all of our existing E-Cup return points will remain open throughout the game, which we hope will further reduce queue time and speed up the E-Cup return process.

Why are Edgbaston providing E-Cups?

The E-Cup scheme is a non-profit generating strategy, which provides our customers a better quality of disposable plastic cup and provide our business a more environmentally sound catering solution. Last year Edgbaston served almost 500,000 beverages in disposable cups and we were very uncomfortable about the amount of wastage we were producing. After sharing best practice with a number of other stadiums, we invested in the E-Cup solution as it provides a simple system of implementation and yields a sustainable waste reduction programme.
Edgbaston is not the first stadium to use this scheme; Twickenham, Roland Garros, Stade de France and the majority of world class festivals now employ an Eco-Cup solution. We will continue to source, develop and deliver the best catering products and solutions available as we aim to deliver experiences without boundaries for all our customers.
