Eighteen-year-old seamer Henry Brookes started the 2018 season as “the next cab off the rank” at Edgbaston – within a few weeks of the season starting he was well and truly off the rank and in the fast lane.

The Solihull-born product of the Bears’ youth system starred with bat and ball in his first three championship matches of the season, bowling with pace and fire and batting with a joyful freedom which sums up his inspiring approach to cricket.

He earned his Blast debut in the 2018 opener against Notts Outlaws at Trent Bridge and, on a high-scoring ground, bowled a superb 4-1-24-1 to help the Bears to a crushing win over the holders.

Henry is proud as punch to be representing his beloved Bears - and already firmly inked into the England selectors’ notebooks.
