Belly is determined to lead the Bears to T20 glory this year having already sampled some of his own in 2017.
Birmingham's captain made his Big Bash debut for Perth Scorchers in Australia during the winter and his consistent, classy batting helped them lift the trophy. Ian's top-order runs underpinned the Scorchers' progress through the group, he scored the winning runs in the semi-final and was at the crease when they cruised to a nine-wicket win over Sydney Sixers in the final.
Belly's class shines through in all formats. He is a five times Ashes winner, an England legend and, without doubt, one of the great batsmen of his generation - but above all a Bear through and through.
In 2016, Ian was awarded the captaincy of Birmingham Bears, bringing his incredible skill-set and knowledge of the professional game on a regular basis for the first time since a decade of England commitments.
At his best under pressure, the skipper will be leading from the front - hopefully all the way to Finals Day at Edgbaston.
