Like his predecessor as Bears wicketkeeper-batsman Tim Ambrose, Burgess arrived at Edgbaston from Sussex – and just like Amby he offers the team loads both behind the stumps and with the bat.
Burgess was fourth in the County Championship Division One dismissals table in 2023 with 46, including 45 catches. Some of his one handed, leg-side takes were truly breath-taking.
